Hey, what can I say? I'm a sucker for the Pop and Rock Radio stations.
I have friends who want to kill me and steal my iPod because I have most of the new music on it.

Anyways, that looks like it would be a great disc to have. All Killer, no filler.

Willy, we've got two discs coming soon, and those are some of the songs we're looking at. They won't all be on the one disc, but both will still be all killer. Posts: 72 | From: Charlotte, NC | Registered: Mar 2009

It does seem that we don't have a lot of folks into Classic R&B and other hip/hop tracks that have been requested on my R&B post since most of my guru's patients have fallen out of favor. I assure you if considering a new R&B disc, it would bring most of my guru's back. We haven't had one since December 15th, 2005. We are way overdue.

As neat as that song is, I think it is too old to meet the new guidelines. I mean Ludo even has a newer CD out I think.

I'd like to request the following songs for a future disk (some of them are not brand new songs... but they are all relatively new and great ones nonetheless - Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife Priestess - Lay Down Metallica - That Was Just Your Life, All Nightmare Long, & Cyanide Seether - Careless Whisper Slipknot - Dead Memories & Psychosocial Hellyeah - Alcohol n A@#

"Careless Whisper" is coming on the next disc (3501), barring any unfortunate issues.
We're tracking all requests, but I will tell you that Slipknot and Metallica are DIFFICULT to license. And, speaking as the guitarist on our last AS song (Almost Easy?), I still have nightmares about them...

Afterlife is an even more intense guitar song than Almost Easy too, lol

Down here i get a lot of requests for "Texas Country" artists....to which I respond with, "If its not on the charts or popular nationwide they won't re-create it." They get ticked off and feel that their music won't get sung. So here's a short list..... Kevin Fowler Randy Rogers Band Cross Canadian Ragweed Wade Bowen Stoney LaRue - Oklkahoma Breakdown Bleu Edmundson Jason Boland Brandon Rhyder and guys like that. They are very talented and deserve to have karaoke made from their songs but too regional, as I've been told too often.

I guess that means we won't see anymore good versions of Luther Vandross, Journey, or AC/DC songs anytime soon. But, I'll bet that you choose the right songs from those classic artists and it will sell more than any of the new crap artist music made today.

but see, the difference here is that SC knows what sells... so I'm gonna guess they're right here
do you see any classic albums anywhere on the Billboard charts right now? how about one that's even a year old? ...no? I wonder why?

Well obviously when an album has had 30 years to sell compared to one month it's going to sell more... I think SC is in sell-now mode, so current hits make much more sense.
I'm also not saying that new music is better than old stuff. However, most of the big hits from back in the day have been covered but SC could probably release 10 new PPs right now with music from the past 5 years and still not be covering all the bases.

Not to mention, but this is now the digital age of music. CD/Album sales have been almost nullified by digital downloads.
The music world today is a buy-by-the-song world. You don't necessarily have to go out to a store and buy the whole album to get your favorite song on the radio.
Look at the numbers for digital downloads. That's how you're going to see what people are buying today.... old or new.
If you go on iTunes and search by Artist, you almost can get a "priority" ranking to see how popular a song is.
Someone mentioned Ted Nugent... let's take a look...
1. Stranglehold 2. Cat Scratch Fever 3. Free-For-All 4. Hey Baby 5. Fred Bear 6. Great White Buffalo 7. Wango Tango
That's what the Ted Nugent fans are buying.
Personally, I'd put myself outside of the Nugent fan base. I have heard of Cat Scratch Fever, Fred Bear, and Wango Tango. Not familiar with the rest.
