I imagine these discs sell pretty well, since they do them every year.
not to mention that there IS a new track included in there somewhere

Yes, we expect "Far Away" by Nickelback will be on the next Pop/Rock Spotlight.

Yes, we do these "Best Of" discs every year - because they sell pretty well. It's just smart business - rule #1 - and plain common sense. (That usually trumps all the rules.)
I get the drift, though - since you already have all the songs on those discs that you care about, you would rather have 'new' songs that haven't been previously released.
That's understandable.... for such individuals.
But it isn't smart business for us. (Always refer to rule #1. Just like when people come to your shows.)

Great answer BC! Market place is not only the karaoke host, but home consumers as well & they are the ones that will tend to purchase the best of discs - although I have a few myself. I don't feel the need to buy everything the minute it comes out & some of the best of discs actually work well for me.

I actually enjoy these discs when I'm putting together another system, or I buy them for my rental book, that way I don't have to update anymore than I really need to with those systems.

They are also great for the KJ who feels they need to buy new songs on a lesser label because they are out sooner, but then want to upgrade the hits later on.

To myself, Best of = Custom cdg at a cheaper price. But it would give a break for the crew.
