Wasn't there a song called "Inside Of You" or "Deep Inside Of You" - forgot the artist's name. Came out around late 70's. Around the time of "Shining Star" by The Manhattans, or when I first heard of Surface, Ray Goodman & Bronw. Anyone knows or remember's it? How about "Treasure" by the Brothers Johnson?

I votes for these classics:

Together - Tierra
Billy Stewart's "Summertime"
Ray Parker, Jr. - "You Can't Change That" (we can only hope SC tries again)
Fire And Desire - Rick James Teena Marie
Suavecito - Malo
and I would like to add:
"Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince (always gets a crowd reaction when I play this)
William DeVaughn’s “Be Thankful for What You Got,” ("Diamond in the Back") the ultimate summer cruisin' song.

Nice selection. We all have been trying to get Fire And Desire by Rick James Teena Marie for the longest time. I'm not sure we're talking loud enough for BC. I mentioned this on mu "Classic R&B Duets" board a while back. A few of my regulars are asking for it as well. I like you other selections as well. Tierra's Together was their only english hit made famous by that great TSOP duo of Gamble & Huff.

P.S. - I wonder how many times we have to keep asking before BC desides to listen.

Did anyone bother to ask SC if it's a total "no way possible" to get Tierra's song or whatever other songs you're talking about? I'm sure they're not ignoring us or not listening to our requests. It's a frustrating process and we just have to be patient. (Dammit [Smile] ...) I love that song too, but how many times will you sing it in public/private before it gets worn out (or people are tired of hearing it sung by you - no offense)...and then what, you move on to the next "candy" that you can't get. Let's look forward to the ones that you previously requested and may be currently in production right now. [Smile] Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. I hope they are R&Bs though.

You know, Wylde, that's rude, even for your "kewl" way of talking.

BC ALWAYS listens. I've never known him NOT to listen, unless he's laid down a law or rule or a SC decision that flat out makes something impossible. Then we're just whining if we continue on with a given post.

He'll consider a request. He doesn't always read all the posts here, but he does check with the majority of them.

To say that he's not listening is just taking the song request options a bit too far in my own opinion!

The Billy Stewart version of "Summertime" is already available from Sound Choice on 8804, not to mention on custom as well.

I'll second:

Raydio - "You Can't Change That"
Malo - "Suavecito" (this one is LONG overdue for karaoke)
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - "Summertime" (can't believe SC never did this one!)

Not trying to start anything on here, but I believe you mentioned on my sound board that you're are into 80's music. I'm sure you have no problem getting most of the songs you request considered if that. As far as us R&B guru's go, it's rare that we even get a song considered. In the time I've been on here, I only noticed "New Edition - Candy Girl" as one of the songs that was requested by some of the R&B guru's that is being edited. I'm sure BC can defend himself if he felt I was out of place with my comment.

I'm entitled to my opinion. I stated that you were being harsh on the facts. I stood up for BC just as much as I would have if you'd have said that to another member here.

As far as your comment goes about 80s music, LOL... you OBVIOUSLY haven't been here that long to know of many of the 80s songs I've requested have NOT been made into SC material!! It took many a moons of posting before some of them became a reality, and that was only when there was a clear majority of folks that agreed with me.

Be patient, have some other "gurus" join up and request music as much as yourself. Or have them Call SC, or write, or email. This bboard is comprised of an ultra-tiny membership of KJS and singers.

Plus you have no way of knowing if some of the songs AREN'T being considered. SC is pretty mum about future releases. Because they take so long in getting permission, pre and post production, studio work, etc, if they came right out and said "You know WW, you're absolutely right! We have seriously neglected these songs, and we're going to release 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' as soon as we get it done." only to have a another company that READS these boards decide to beat them to the punch.

Heck, even ALLOWING the song requests on here allows others to see what some people want. I know of at least one other manufacturer that pulled their public song request forum due to sneaky crap like that!

'Course, what do I know? I've only been a member here for 5 years, compared to your six months! Forget I exist... I don't know beans about this site, how they operate, their policies here, not had my OWN run-ins with the admins on how to behave here...

And you're absolutely right... BC can and does defend himself quite well. He's already responded to some of your posts about four different color highlighting and voice-parts for multiple singers... I'm sure if you continue down this road, he'll eventually say something to you.

Well Matt, if I been on here for 5 years or 6 months as me, what difference does it makes? I'm not sure of your point at all. I never had anything personally bad to say about BC as you are making it out to be. I believe some of the things BC says on my board reflex to my views I said on my "Re-Editing" topic causing him to shut it down. My points are from my general overall publics point of view. When I mention having different singers parts in most songs I request, it's because Sound Choice has a great rep in how a song is suppose to be edited. Like I mentioned before, no other company other than Sound Choice has more than 2 singers per song. If they can make a song like Busta Rhymes, Carey, Mariah and Flipmode Squad - I Know What You Want (SC8853), I know it can be done.

P.S. - "Let's Chill"

I am chilled... sitting in front of a fan, actually! LOL!

My POINT is that BC DOES listen. He certainly doesn't respond to every post, but he does read the majority of them. There was a time when this bboard was really busy that he couldn't possibly read all the posts AND conduct his affairs at Sound Choice at the same time. The board isn't so busy nowadays.

And my point on the time of membership isn't trying to paint me on a pedastal, but rather trying to show you the points I laid out.

CAN SC do what you're asking? Absolutely. As you pointed out, they have in the past.

But making statements like "When is BC going to listen" or some other such comments is only going to make negative waves. The man DOES have a lot of patience. Many of us members were sitting back in shock watching him put up with stuff most of us wouldn't have put up with. Ultimately, BC had a plan in place, and literally let those flamers burn themselves to where they couldn't back away from what they did.

I'd personally HATE to see you doing the same kinda thing. THAT'S why I said you were being too harsh.

I personally LIKE your requests, and you've stirred up the song board requests in many ways... you have some backing for what you're asking for, and I seriously applaud that.

This board doesn't need many more "classic rock and 80's" requestors! LOL! We're doing just fine with ourselves. But someone that knows the R&B scene??? Sure! They can shed the light on things from another perspective! I've watched your requests and done a lot of research BECAUSE of them. I don't chime in much, because I don't know much about the R&B scene. So you, to me, are my guide to another area of music. If my customers want some R&B, I can tell you that YOUR threads are the FIRST place I'll go to for an interest!

If you go back and read what I was saying, in no way was I being a "flamer" towards you. I didn't come down on you in a MAJOR negative way. I quoted you, and replied to that, and then at the end, said, "In my opinion". When you responded to that, THEN I defended myself.
