I'm talking songs where you go "...was that really that group?"

Two of my favorites are "Vermilion, Part 2" by Slipknot and "Darkness" by Disturbed

Even if you normally are turned off by those particular bands, I would suggest checking out those songs. You might enjoy them.

I think both would make for excellent karaoke songs.

Anyone else have suggestions for similar songs?

Testament - The Legacy and The Ballad (From the albums Souls of Black and Practice What you Preach)

Wonderful slow songs from an otherwise very heavy band. These would have been roughly 90's sometime.

Don't Follow from Alice In Chains... play this song for a friend and see if they can guess who it is. Then play some of Chains harder stuff (Rooster, Man In A Box, Them Bones) and they won't believe it is the same band let alone the same singer. Awesome song and a must for a disc of this nature!!
