Just wanted to say thanks for the Stevie Wonder star! I had requested this awhile back on a 70s and 80s board. Guess you listened ;-)

Hopefully we will get a version of stevies cover of we can work it out by the beatles. The finest cover of a beatle song EVER.

funny you should mention stevie's cover of "we can work it out"...

...many motown artists covered beatles' tunes. in fact, there's a cd that's been out for a few years that feature the best covers.

it'd be great to have a few done up. i don't think there'd be any jobete issues since they weren't written by motown's people:

Yesterday - Marvin Gaye (mesmerizing)
She's Leaving Home - Syreeta Wright, featuring Stevie Wonder (her ex-husband) singing the background vocals and doing the musical arrangement
We Can Work It Out - Stevie Wonder
Hey Jude - The Temptations (Dennis Edwards' era)
My Sweet Lord - Edwin Starr (personally, i think this song was originally written for him)
The Long & Winding Road - Gladys Knight & The Pips (although technically they recorded it shortly after leaving motown)
