funny you should mention stevie's cover of "we can work it out"... ...many motown artists covered beatles' tunes. in fact, there's a cd that's been out for a few years that feature the best covers.
it'd be great to have a few done up. i don't think there'd be any jobete issues since they weren't written by motown's people:

My Sweet Lord - Edwin Starr (personally, i think this song was originally written for him)
The Long & Winding Road - Gladys Knight & The Pips (although technically they recorded it shortly after leaving motown)
