Maybe it's just my excitement for my trip to Vegas in a few days (which includes seeing Earth, Wind & Fire), but that sparked a Star Series idea.

Anyone interested in an EW&F Star Series?

"Reasons"
"September"
"After The Love Has Gone"
"That's The Way Of The World"
"Sing A Song"
"Can't Hide Love"
"Shining Star"
"Saturday Night"

...and/or whatever other alternates (so as to not have too many repeats from prior Spotlight disks).

I'm going to say it yet again... Cyndi Lauper. (You knew that was coming, didn't ya?) She Bop and I Drove All Night PLEASE!

I'm really surprised that there hasn't been a Madonna Star. You have enough songs aready done to do TWO Stars, and if you split the songs correctly (adding some stuff that isn't available anywhere else) you would have two potentially great CDs.

***VOLUME 1***
American Pie
Love Don't Live Here Anymore
Crazy For You
Into The Groove
Borderline
Hanky Panky
Rain
Rescue Me
Like A Virgin
You'll See
Fever
Cherish**
Don't Tell Me**
Ray of Light**
You Must Love Me
Express Yourself**

***VOLUME 2***
Beautiful Stranger
This Used To Be My Playground
I'll Remember
Open Your Heart
Lucky Star
Vogue
Power Of Goodbye
Secret
Material Girl
Take A Bow
Human Nature**
Like A Prayer**
Music
Nothing Really Matters
Sooner or Later**
True Blue**

** songs that would need to be produced.

"She Bop" / 8192

"I Drove All Night" / 8552

Cyndi's a possibility, but it wouldn't be anything new, so I don't know if anyone is going to get excited about that.

Stars have 8 songs on them. Spotlights have 15 songs on them. We don't make a product with 16 songs (other than the occasional disc with a Bonus track).

We're there on Madonna. All we need from the newlywed is permission from her publishing company to compile her songs onto one disc.

When we get that - and I imagine that would be around her 50th birthday - we'll be on it. (Attention: the Madonna commentary is sarcasm. She's only 40, and there has been not the slightest indication that permission would be forhtcoming.)

Creed is already done.

Chili Peppers is also a done deal.

TLC & Destiny's Child is a natural, REM and Lenny Kravitz are nominees being considered, Alice Cooper will end up on a 3 Of A Kind with Motley Crue and Poison, and EWF could also see a 3 Of A Kind (although Phillip Bailey's voice would make it more of a 'genre' grouping than a 'vocal' similarity grouping).

In Two Thousand and One!!

How about a Chaka Khan Star Series? While I doubt there's a HUGE demand for Chaka Khan, maybe considering that or a 3-of-a-kind specialty would be cool.

More specifically, I'd like to see "Ain't Nobody" on Sound Choice. I've got a version on Sunfly that's, let's just say, a bit lacking. If any company can do it justice, SC can.

2.)Crimson & Clover
3.)Sweet Cherry Wine
4.)Draggin' the Line
5.)Mony, Mony
6.)Hanky Panky
and place on it the upcoming
7.)Crystal Blue Persuasion
and record
8.)MIRAGE

Voila!

BC, good call on the Cooper,Motely, Poison three of a kind. So when can I expect to see this one. And are you putting some new ones on it or just lining up what you already have?
If you got new ones in mind, how about:
Poison: Look what the cat dragged in, Fallin angel, Your mamma don't dance, Life goes on, Ride the wind, OR even a new one Can't dring me down

Cooper:
Hey stupid, Love's a loaded gun, Feed my frankinstine, Lost in America, Stolen prayer, Billion dollar babies

Motely:
Same old situation, Rock n roll junkie, Helter skelter, Kick start my heart, Primal scream

If you got it figured out by now, sorry to bugg ya. But if it is still in planning I hope at least a few of these make the cut.

I second 2 of Ace's picks for Poison:

Fallen Angel
Your Mama Don't Dance

Those 2 are right up my alley.

I have some friends who would like the Cooper & Motley songs though I don't sing them.

Hey, Brian,

Thanks for the Tommy James review.

A Star is a stretch. Maybe on some wierdo 3 Of A Kind featuring enduring 60s pop-rockers from Jersey. The 4 Seasons, Lou Christie, Looking Glass, Bruce....

... don't hold your breath, though.

PS - way back when, I played with some of the many Shondells in a few Jersey dives. Not a particularly inspiring experience.

No problem. I am really looking for "I Think We're Alone Now" to be de-bricked and for "Mirage" to be recorded. I will buy all the single discs.
The new DVD is what is inspiring me. the band sounds great.

Just ordered SC2092 & SC2246 yesterday.
Can't wait for them to arrive!

Is there any chance of a Chris LeDoux Star Series disc? I'm mainly looking for these 2 songs though he has quite a few great ones.

1. County Fair
2. Cadillac Ranch
+?
Whatcha Gonna Do With A Cowboy (duet ver.)
For Your Love
Under This Old Hat
Look At You Girl
Hooked On An 8 Second Ride
Riding For A Fall

------------------------
*revised Hank Jr. request (again!)
+ Alabama & Bellamy Bros. request

I will be ordering very soon: SC2117(All excellent selections) & SC8628(Alabama & Bellamy Brothers)

Requesting these please:

Hank Jr.:
A Country Boy Can Survive (original ver.)
If Heaven Ain't A Lot Like Dixie
We Are Young Country

Alabama:
If You're Gonna Play In Texas (You Gotta Have A Fiddle In The Band)

Chris LeDoux:
County Fair
Cadillac Ranch

Bellamy Brothers:
Old Hippie (original ver.)

Ok I'm stuck for the last song. Help!

Wainbow,
The MOODY disc is worth having if just for getting "Voices In The Sky". SC did a wonderful job on this song and all of the songs on the disc. I wish they would put out another one......

Question
Never Comes The Day
Lovely To See You
Legend Of A Mind
Watching And Waiting
The Best Way To Travel
I'm Just A Singer In A Rock N Roll Band
*Nights In White Satin

It would sure be nice if SC could add the "Cold hearted orb...that rules the night...." poem. No other karaoke company has included that in thier versions of that song and I think it really makes the song meaningful.

How about a Tom Petty SCSS?

Running Down A Dream
Free Falling

Ditto. Anything would be fine as long as S.C.'s "Comfortably Numb" and "Hey You" end up on it. anything else would be icing on the proverbial cake.

Or, for that matter, a three of a kind with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and . . . uh.

Uh. . .

Uh. . .

Alan Parsons Project?

How about a series of "these guys are jerks and only allow one song per CD" series?

That way I could get Tom Petty, The Pretenders, Tori Amos, etc... all on one series without doubling up on songs.

Who else has this rule with licensing?

I think a Melissa Etheridge Star would go over quite well.

I don't care what you put on it, as long as you include "You Must Be Crazy For Me"... my all-time favorite Etheridge song...

As I'm sure BC and Courtney can guess, I'll always get behind any Melissa Etheridge song or disk they want to produce. She's my favorite.

My other favorite female artist is Stevie Nicks. Has anyone else heard?...Fleetwood Mac is planning to produce another album. Maybe we can get some more Stevie tunes from that album, if it takes off!
