Last night all of my friends mom and dad went out for karaoke.

Anyways they had a different kind of contest going on. I don't know if you even should call it a contest cause everyone who joined got a free drink ticket.

This is the kind of contest that involves group involvement. The karaoke dancing contest.

Your a team of three and 1 person has to sing a song and the other 2 dance.

Well anyways my mam is like "The" dancer.

I sang Rock in Robin and my mom and dad was just a given er and to see them having so much fun after 38 years of marriage made my night. None of my friends could believe what a good dancer my mom is at 58 years old. My poor dad has to drink a little just to keep up with her.

(P.S. Regulars there thought my mom was my sister not my mom cause of how young she looks I guess when you don't drink or smoke it pays off)

other than seeing my parents haveing the time of their lives at KARAOKE I thought that was kind of a neat contest and for some people to get their other halves involved.

Sounds like a refreshing new direction for karaoke competition, and since this new movement is in its infancy, it will probably take a while before it catches-on as a mainstream style - when it may then become vulnerable to the pitfalls of other popular mainstream competition styles which generally end-up finding ways in which to suck and ultimately deteriorate into "karaoke-politics-driven popularity contests" rather than competition based upon true talent as the main component. If only life was fair, eh? Corruption yet prevails and perpetuates....and the ever-thriving existence of that situation sucks more than anything!

I'm happy for you regarding the good time you and your parents were able to experience and I'm encouraged with creative new ideas to make karaoke competition more fun, relaxed and casual, and less susceptible to corruption and other forms of "suckability", per tradional trends.

I hope this idea catches-on because it sounds simple and enjoyable, as opposed to tense and deplorable....as has become generally definitive of "traditional" styles of competition within the American "karaoke culture". This new thing may be a step in the right direction....of course we'll have to wait-and-see, but it appears kinda cool at this juncture, anyway!
