We would prefer not to have obvious self-promotion, that turns this website into a Nascar billboard. And I considered that when I first saw this thread, but...

1 - Other KJs have posted about contests they are hosting, although...

2 - The more typical and very preferred protocol would be to pose a general KJ type question about contests in the context of hosting a contest. For instance, "The Manager at my main bar told me we're having a contest to capitalize on American Idol. How can I ...? Does anyone have any good ideas for....?

3 - Whatever... at this point, it seemed like a better idea to give this a chance and see if things can stay calm. As opposed to our now standard, ho-hum meltdown filled with personal attacks, he said-she said, no metal, no rap, no Barry Manilow, no songs too long, no songs too short, no duets, no rotations, no music, no singers over 6'2", no singers under 5"2", no yelling, no talking, no listening, no smoking, no beer, no tips, no religion, no atheism, no karaoke, no bands, nobody... I figured I would see if I could head it off at the pass.

Of course... Closed and Delete are just a shot away. Hopefully, peace in the valley will reign.

BTW: To answer the self-promotion qustion, no, as a rule, we don't like it and won't allow it.
