I almost never get into broadcast TV hype-type shows like "Survivor", etc...however, about a month ago, the TV in the bedroom just happened to be on Fox one evening whilest American Idol was on. I had little to no interest in it until they anounced a performer named Nikki and I actually recognized the voice! Holy s*&$!! I KNOW THAT GIRL! We used to visit a show hosted by a nice, attractive lady named Terri. Well, occasionally, she'd be contracted to host a private party, so, a replacement would be in order. Sometimes it was Denelle, sometimes her husband. Other times it would be some talentless, personality-less dweeb. Then there was Nikki. Genuine talent, loads of personnae, just an all-around sweetheart. From then on, if Terri wasn't there, then it'd better be Nikki! We wouldl eventually get a gig of our own, and whuddayaknow! Nikki showed up several times! I'm SOO proud of her current progress, even though I think she is outclassed by another Tejan (Kelly, from Burleson...don't know her!). Tamyra is also up there, too. Still, Nikki is OUR favorite...BEST O LUCK!!

Yep! I'll be watching that tonight too. I've been rootin' for Nikki! However, I have a feeling that the final showdown will be between Kelly and Tamyra. Gotta say that they both blow Justin AWAY! That guy can only get so far on those lovely, curly locks! Wooo Hooooo!

Ya know...If the competition was to be judged soley on this evenings performances, I'd have to say that Nikki won hands down! Guess it really does all come down to song selection. She really did a smashing job!!!
Tamyra's, Kelly's and Justin's voices were NOT in tip-top shape this evening. Both Kelly and Tamyra made, um, boo boo's on their first songs, and even though Kelly was awesome (as usual), you could really tell that he voice was giving out on her second song. Pssst! I voted for her Nikki repeatedly

Oh, no not here too. (referring to topic over at JOLT).
I never actually called in to vote, but they are being illiminated in pretty much the order that I predicted. Now it's getting harder to decide which one should go next, but I have a feeling it's going to be "curly top". lol

REALLY?????? WOW! It will be interesting to see who goes next. Yes, if the contest were to be judged soley on last nights performance, I'd say that "curly top" should be the next to go. His voice is no where nearly as strong as any of the ladie's voices. I'll have to say that the lowest two tonight will be either Justin and Nikki or Justin and Tamyra. In no way can Kelly be voted off... yet. But you are right. It is getting harder and harder to predict.

Ya know Nikki hit her stride last night. Her voice and on-stage attitude fit the song verrrrrrry well. She would also nail most of Amanda Marshall's work.(IMHO)
Over the span of the contest Justin has been stronger but it just didn't work for him last night. Pony does a more powerfull-goosebump-creating version of 'Get Here'.
I suspect that Tamyra has the greater "icon" potential, but Kelly has the strongest voice of the bunch. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Connie, I tried posting on the jolt Forum on this topic, but it won't let me. Even when I am logged on and everything, as soon as I click the "post my message" button, it just brings me to a new screen saying "no access" HRMFFF!

Yes, Connie, that is me over there LOL! I had to email jolt and have them manually reset my email addy and let me in. Little technical boo boo in the way changing email addresses work over there.
Yes, I am freaking out that Tamyra was voted off. This totally makes NO sense! I really thought that it should be Justin or Nikki's time to go. Justin is NOT as strong of a singer as any of the ladies! Holy cow! what a friggin' upset! I like Nikki, but sheesh, Tamyra should never have been in the bottom two.

I think EVERYONE felt that way. Did you hear how "shocked" the crowd and judges were when they announced Tamyra's name?
She's a fantasic singer, and should have been in the top two. I guess the fact that she bombed on one of her songs, and Nikki sang newer, more popular songs got her the votes.

You know, I really despise this show. The way they treat these young folks is reprehensible. Calling them losers, no talent yada yada. I guess its mainly the English jerkoff who does this (no offense to our folks across the pond). I just wonder what all that does to a young person. They are so negative.

3 judges... The 'never was', offers to help The 'has-been', says you're great And 'the jerk' rips you up... It's kind of a formula thing. They all have a role to play.
Simon's negative comments are likely offset by the numerous offers received when the cameras are off.

You know I acutually saw part of this show, besides being a Coke or Pepsi commercial - them soda's all over the place it seemed terrible. I guess they are looking for the next Britney, Christina, or Nsync; and forcing the nation to believe that an American Idol must be a young attractive person...
anyway the real American Idol is $$$$$$$$$

Well, here on the west coast right now, it is 7:55pm. The results show is not on for another one hour and 5 minutes. I got home, turned on my computer, turned on yahoo messenger, and Karawolf told me who was booted! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! LoL! He thought it aired at the same time everywhere! Hey Daron, PTPTPTPTPTPTPTPPTPTPTPTPPTPTPTP! LoL! ~Diane

It's probably like Big Brother, where it's live in the Eastern Time Zone, but taped when it gets played in the west. Or they just mean a live audience when they say live.

Yep. I think that it just means that it is recorded in front of a live audience. When they air it here on the west coast, there is a small written disclaimer that says "recorded earlier". I dunno.
I'll just make sure that I don't turn my computer on till AFTER the show is done airing here. That would be AFTER 12 midnight for you Daron! LoL!
Thanks for being so considerate Mark

I haven't been following the show, but an article in the paper made a good point. The name of the show is American Idol, not America's best singer. Kelly may be the better singer, but Justin has more idol appeal. Of course, either way, this will likely be a one hit wonder and we'll never hear from them again.

Very impressive. I think all of them in the top ten have a future in show biz of some sort. Even if it means cameos in teen movies

Where is Eden's Crush now anyway LOL
I agree with you on Justin having more Idol appeal, I think that's why I'm happy he lost to Kelly. He was just another hearthrob - and knew it! I like the fact that Kelly could hold her own and still have the 'girl next door' appeal. I think she can go places.

Dan, I think that if Justin had won, that this statement would be true. Kelly, on the other hand, is extremely versatile and amazingly talented. I really believe that she will go far. I recently watched the movie For The Boys with Bette Midler singing the song "Stuff Like That There", the same song that Kelly sang on Big Band night, and Kelly Friggin' BLOWS Bette Midler out of the water!!! I sure wish I had that voice!!!!

I've gotta say, this years crop of AI hopefuls were pretty sad...AND, the two best singers were nixed waaaay too prematurely.
Besides, WB's Superstar USA is lookin' pretty promisin'!!

You are aware that the WB's program is a spoof. The contestants are actually the worst of the crop not the best. That was the whole premise of the show, to dupe the contestants into thinking they were actually good.
