But you have to admit that in the arena scene with all the lightsabers appearing was awe inspiring. Nothing against Spiderman I'm personally looking foreward to seeing this movie but I live eat and breathe Star Wars, I've read most of the novels have both sets of the trilogies and will upgrade to DVD when the time comes. I wish this movie would've gone on forever it is fast approaching one of my personal favorites of the whole saga.

Sorry, L'Op, Spiderman was always slated to premire in May of 2002. The incident you are speaking of is the preview trailer that was released in mid-summer last year. The footage contained in it was specifically filmed for the trailer and there was no intention of adding it to the film. The "story" consists of a group of bank robbers escaping in a helicopter which is caught in one of Spidey's webs. The webs are connected to each of the towers.

According to Sam Raimi there were only quick passing shots of the towers in the final film including a reflection of them in Spidey's eyes. I believe they were removed, but I don't recall reading an official confirmation.

This trailer is available to download on your favorite pirate software.

The movie was slated to be released a lot earlier... but the legal battles cost it a lot of money, and a director (Titanic fame - James Cameron, who came up with the idea for the organic webshooters rather than the mechanical ones)

They didn't delete any scenes of the towers, even in the reflections in his eyes. There was at least one I recall that when he was swinging, you could see them in the background.

The only editing they really did was of the billboards, and there are a few lawsuits pending about that! Seems Sony didn't want their competitors up on THEIR screen!! LOL!

Matt

P.S. I AM a major Star Wars Geek... but like BC stated... the anticipation of a thing didn't live up to the reality. Also a few of the trailers (which I downloaded from star wars.com) flat out lied!! I think they are later scenes that may be in part 3... the ominous figure in dark strolling towards Obi-Wan, the scene with Gabriel and with Christopher Walken as dark jedi...

The movie WAS good... I just thought the script was very plodding and mechanical. But that's the way ALL of Lucas' movies are! He's a great visionary, but a terrible people director.

Oh Matt, Matt, Matt. It seems you have been fooled by a fan made trailer. Chris Walken and Gabriel Byrne were never signed for Star Wars although they were both heavily rumored to be in the film.

If you still have the trailer on you computer, take a look at it again. If the web address for theforce.net is in the lower corner, then this is a fan made trailer and a darn good one too. There are actually 2 versions of it too one with Hayden Christiansian and one with Leo DiCaprio.

Re: Spiderman: That's rather cool that the reflections are still on his eyes of the towers.

PS: Geeze 2 posts in less than 12 hours correcting people. Aren't I just the know-it-all. LOL

Matt I got the same trailer. Most of the people who are on the SW Message Boards know that the force.net is a big hit or miss place. I downloaded all the official trailers from SW.com. Of course I read the outline of the movie 6 mo ago and got the book two weeks before so I new what was going to happen, but that just made me wanna see the movie more, three years and counting till EPIII it's worse than waiting for the next HB release.

Okay fang, I knew something was up when I saw Jimmy Smitts with no facial hair (turning around and rolling his eyes at something), and the girl from "Last of the Mohicans" that dove off the cliff... that scene with her in the trailer WAS from that movie, just with an added lightsaber in front of her.

But the figure strolling towards the camera?? Nawwww, that was pure Darth BEFORE the mask!! It was a kewl silvery covering over his face.

Saw AOTC finally last night. I really enjoyed it. The dialogue is pretty mundane though but I didn't think it was THAT bad, I've certainly seen worse.
Wish the scene wear Anakin loses it and murders the Sandpeople was longer though, would have had more credibility. I thought the best fight scene was with Yoda and Dooku.
Saw Spidey when it came out. Really enjoyed that too.

That Yoda vs Dooku fight has to rank up there with the Darth Maul fight in Episode I. Actually, I was sorry to see Jango Fett get knocked off.

Stan, how do you know if that wasn't really a clone that got killed, instead of Jango?
(suddenly the song "Coco Jambo" by Mr. President rings thru my head,
"No-no-no, Don't Kill Jango. No-no-no.
Oh-no-no, Poor poor Boba. No-no-no.")

Do you remember in the movie that the tall aliens were instructed to make an "unaltered" clone by Jango's instructions? That clone could be Boba, or maybe look just like Jango, will have to wait and see.
"May the Farce be with you!"

The Unaltered clone was Bobba... they said they didn't accelerate it's aging like they did the others.

But you're right. Ol' Bobba could have pulled a fast one and had a regular clone there!

Go in here and look around with all us other geeks. We know all.

BTW Jango is dead, his clone is young Boba who will be about 13-15 for the next film.

I went to the IMAX theater last night to see AOTC, and it was so cool. All I really have to say is Natalie Portman in that white suit on a 60'x87' screen.
