Thought this might be an interesting thread. I've got my bet on Colorado. My heart is with my hometown Canucks but they're so injured and young they'll be lucky to get in the playoffs at this point.

I think BC gonna think I'm nuts but I have two different predictions. 1) If the Bruins make to the play offs(you can stop laughing now) I can only hope that they will win. That being said 2) I don't think anybody is taking out Borque and the rest of the Avalanche becase simply Ray has to win one before he retires.

Woo Hoo! The Vancouver Canucks clinched a playoff berth for the first time in 4 years! If they draw Dallas first I like their chances in the first round.

Avs in 5 (ok, maybe 6 if Potvin stands on his head), Devils in 5, St. Louis in 7. Don't want to bet against Mario, but I can't see some rookie beating the Dominator, either. This series could have some of the most spectacular one-on-one plays in years.
Still say Devils vs. Avs for Lord Stanley's cup, and the Cup is raised in the swamp again.

Devils in 5? LMAO!!! Toronto wasn't supposed to win a game against Ottawa either, but I think they handled Ottawa's Jersey style snooze game pretty well. I won't be at all surprised if Jersey moves on, but I think Toronto will win more than once. This will definitely be a goaltender's series.
I don't think you've been paying attention the past 12 months, bud. Jersey doesn't play that "snooze style" anymore (no Neutral Zone Trap, or Left Wing Lock), they've got some of the top offensive talents in the NHL - plus the meanest defense in the league and Brodeur.
For the first time all year, the Leafs actually played like they were supposed to. But it'll take more than 4 games against the biggest playoff chokers since the Rangers of 91-92 (or the Devils of 97) to rattle the cage of the grizzled veteran, defending champs.
And don't confuse for a second the playoff wimps from Ottawa with the playoff-tough warriors from the Swamp. This ain't gonna be no patty-cake, non-contact series, and team toughness isn't exactly the Leafs calling card (although Roberts and Corson will make them stand taller).
When Uncle Scotty delivers one of your boys (can you say Matts Sundin?) to the Emergency Room for a concussion check, a la, Lindros, Shane Willis and Ron Francis, and then Corson or Cement Head Domi (that's what we used to call him in NYC) gets his butt beat by McKay or Daneyko (another cement-head) for defending his teammates right to skate with his head down, who ya gonna call?
The Stanley Cup Playoffs!! Legalized mayhem at high speed - ya gotta love it!

Yo BC, firstly, I'm not a Leafs fan but they are the only Candaian Team left so I'll root for them. I take exception to your team toughness. Yo guy, don't you know Tie Domi (or dummy) and Tucker what's his puss? Dude, this will be a hard hitiing series and as long as TO doesn't turtle like they did last year. The leafs are gonna spank Jersey and they're ilk right our of the rink and into the swamp. This I think will be a magical series. Go Leafs go!

Eh?! I suppose it makes sense that someone calling himself'Alice' would be rooting for a team with men of power, speed, grace and violence who call themselves 'Tie' and 'Darcy' (that "Tucker dude") - lol.
At least Toronto is an Original 6 team, so I'll have to respect your nationalistic proclivities. But I wouldn't count on them seeing the next round.
PS - I suspect that most of the spanking that Toronto will be doing will be comprised of their heads and bodies spanking the glass or the ice after being checked by the big, bad Devils from the Swamp.

Yeah, but the Devils look kind of vulnerable.... to the Avs or Blues, anyway (lol).

The game 2 winner was a good play (even though there is no way Jersey should have let that one get to OT). Game 3's was pure luck, to get a bounce like that. Oh well. That's the way hockey goes. Could just as easily be 3-0 Toronto right now. If the Devils don't straighten up, they won't go too much farther after this one, let alone worry about the Avs, or Blues.

Double-Ack-Ack! Wolf, What about our beloved Texas Rangers? I keep waiting to see when you're gonna pitch. We need some help(as bad as the Stars need help in this series) GaryC

Yeah, really. There's a good way to get NJ all fired up. The first 59 minutes and 52 seconds was great hockey. (OK what I saw of it as I channel surfed) Cement head needs to go get his golf clubs out now.

The Sharks are now fish bait. The Warriors were a bunch of panzies. All that I can say now is "When the Giants come to town/It's bye, bye baby/When the chips are down/It's bye, bye baby/...."
How about a disk of sports team songs?

Two great Game 7s last night - I had whiplash (not to mention culture shock) from all my flicking between the hockey helmets and goalie masks to the cowboy hats and tent dresses on the CMA awards.
And we get Mario vs. Dominik tonight! Still can't believe the LA Kings (it was almost deja vú all over again from '93). Still looks like Roy vs. Brodeur, but anything can happen.
PS - The Leafs gave it a valiant effort, but the Swamp dudes aren't the defending SC champs for nothing. (And I get to relive it all over again next October when Cement Head has to sit out the first 8 games - at No Pay!)

Finally us Bruins' fans can rejoice. Ray Borque has made back to the cup, we'll be all fired up for him to take home with him in his final season. Thanks for the memories Ray we still love here in New England, considering we will never have any type of competative hockey around here again, I think I'm converting to an Avalanche fan.

As I said on a different board, the only sure thing will be either the current or former Colorado team will win it. I'm rooting for the Avs, but I doubt I'll be watching much of it.

Well, I had reall y wanted to see Mario go, but since that's obviously not in the cards now, Go Avs! Even if somebody should tell Patrick roy that if he wants to pronounce it that wway, spell it "Roi" and well.. Patrick is just SUCH a French name. Avyway, I'd like to see the Avs take it now.
