no problem with your idea, case, but i think the forum serves that purpose.i've gotten a sense of where people are coming from with the replies to topics on the board.

I'm kinda torn here. A chat room sounds like it could be very intersting, however, I believe that hosting one is fairly high maintenance. Might be a bit much to ask of the SC web heads, they are already putting a great deal into maintaining these forums. Maybe you or some other member might consider hosting a chat room. I would drop in occasionally.

*ahem* As I stated in another area (songbook ettiquette), ICQ is marvelous for that type of thing...

Not really, but I just woke up, so I thought it was me. Didn't Sound Choice have a chat room on here last year, back when they had that Member's area? I can't remember because I never used it, and suspect hardly anyone else did either. That;s why it';s gone, I guess.

I had ICQ but it took up way too much space on my computer, so I deleted it. Now I just use the Yahoo messenger and AOL instant messenger (which anyone can get). My name is singirle on both of those if anyone wants to chat!

Yes, there did use to be a mIRC type chatroom here at Sound Choice. However, at the time there were a little over 100 members scattered all over the planet. It was very, very difficult to get people to all meet there because of... work conflicts, time zone conflicts, life conflicts. You know LOL. Rodney even posted specific times for everyone to meet but it was just too difficult to get us all syncronized. Now with 427 registered memebers there might be a better chance of getting it together. Who knows? I did have the pleasure of trying the mIRC type chatroom with Karawolf and AnthonyT. That was a fun three-way .. LOL BTW, I have:
ICQ AIM MSN messenger Yahoo Messenger & mIRC
However, ICQ is really the most versatile so it is really the only one I use. Diane's waste of cyberspacePosts: 1108 | From: Portland, Oregon | Registered: Apr 1999

SC used to have a chat room here, but it never got used. There is a great karaoke chat room at JOLT, which, unfortunately, also rarely gets used. The nice thing is you can have it open and also open another window so you can check the Forums, or surf, while you're chatting. Here's a link: Karaoke Lounge. I generally hang out in there weeknights between 6-8 Pacific Time, and occasionally weekend afternoons. Usually only a few chatters, but the one common bond is KARAOKE!

You can also find me at Karaoke.com's chat room too, usually sat or sun afternoons. I Don't have ICQ, because it caused some problems with my computer.

Check out something called "Hear Me". it allows both text AND live chat over a microphone. If ya wanna see an example, go to www.russmartin.com ....it's a website for a local D.J. Just click on the "chat room" link.
