I was wondering what happened to a new Christmas CDG release this year. It's the beginning of November, and I didn't see anything in the Current Releases and Future Releases (for November and December).

Nothing 'happened', because there was nothing scheduled to happen this year - .

Historically, for the past 7 or 8 years, we have released Xmas discs every other year.

Well
Christmas Is A Time To Say I Love You - Billy Squier

But I would put that in a special Christmas request section in the Song Request forum.

Wow, where's your Christmas cheer? Can't we all just get along. Why slam someone for asking a question?

There are probably more songs SC can do. Maybe a couple of more Rankin/Bass songs - can't wait to do Heat Miser/Snow Miser again.

There are songs from Nightmare Before Christmas.
The Pretenders 2,000 Miles
That Julie Brown Christmas song,
hey, maybe even Frosty The Dope Man; or does Weird Al have a song or two?

Geez, David. You've been here 4 years, and you think that was slamming? Haven't been paying attention much? LOL

Well, as the saying goes, I'm too broke to pay attention - Okay, maybe slam was a bit too harsh; just thought maybe we could have World Peace - oh, no, well, how about a Piece For the World?

Okay, so maybe there are more Christmas songs.

My initial thought was how many different versions of some songs do we need? Like Silent Night by Stevie Nicks, Hanson, traditional, etc...

I've got two and a half pages of Christmas songs now.

I suppose there's always room for more twisted style songs but SC did good last year with those.

Anyway, let me be the first to wish everyone here a happy holiday season and a healthy prosperous new year.

David, I didn't feel like I was slammed by anyone here.

Flameslayer... Yes, there's a lot more that SC could possible attempt to put out (depending on the licensing and all that other good stuff). I've asked for quite a bit in the past few years (with regards to more "Twisted Christmas" stuff) that I could have a field day with.

BC... At least I stopped asking for "Back When My Hair Was Short" by Gun Hill Road...
OK, when are you taking our Christmas requests for next year then?

No reason to not request songs now. We know there won't be a disc this year, but this is the time of year when the songs are on our minds. Last year BC asked for requests in July, and said what type of discs they were looking to put out. I'm sure if we start posting any requests now while the songs are top of mind, we can at least refer back to here if/when the time comes next spring/summer.
