Hello everyone. The SC8704 (Here Comes The Funk - Vol. 2) that I bought has this really cool clear matte sticker over it. I imagine that a covering like this would protect the delicate label side. This disc was one of the first Mediacloq CDG's and I was hoping that future releases would also have this same coating. I'm guessing that it's Mediacloq, even though it doesn't have the logo on the front, it won't play in my computer. I think it looks cool and is very useful.
Will we be seeing more CDG's protected with label/coating? I am hoping the answer is yes.

I'm not quite sure exactly what you're talking about, but I think you're referring to the "clearcoat" finsih on the label side of the disc.
If that is correct, we've been doing that for every new Spotlight since 8625 (I think), as well as all Spotlights we reorder.
It has nothing to do with MediaCloQ. It was to address complaints about the label side of Spotlights scratching too easily. Yes, it does add more protection to the label side. Hope that helps.

Between the new coating and the clear shields I've been using, I haven't seen so much as a flicker on my discs.

Thanks for your response, BC. I went through my girlfriend's Sound Choice collection and found more CDg's with this clear finish on it. Thanks for doing that, it's a nice bonus. I hope that soon all Sound Choice discs will have it. Reason #237 why Sound Choice is the best! Thanks again!

I also noticed on a friend's custom CDG that she got a few months after mine, that hers had a special coating on it while the earlier ones didn't. Definitely a good idea to add this to the discs.
