I do, on a rare occasion "Sister Golden Hair" by America.
I have done "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell on a dare.lol...I know alot of people do "Walking in Memphis" by Marc Coen
"Long Cool Woman" by the Hollies is a fun song.
"Heart full of Soul" by the Yardbirds is a Classic.
"Sultans of Swing" by Dire Straits needs to stay for me.
"The Weight" by The Band is done occasionally.

I guess that would be my input. [Smile]

Most of 'em are done occaisionally if not regularly. Many I either do or have tried.

More than once I've had new people praise me up and down because I've got some song that nobody else has.

Who knows, your next most loyal singer might be because you have one of those songs you're thinking of getting rid of.

Sister Golden Hair
Knock On Wood
Secret Agent Man
This Guys In Love With You
I Melt With You (Modern English) - a lot of people ask for this song, but can't remember the name of it or the name of the band. But once it is done then people seem to remember it and it pops up now and again)
The Weight - Quite a few times and good crowd reaction
Midnight Confessions
Tuff Enuff
Sultans Of Swing
Wicked Game (done by 3-4 other people)
Daisy Jane (one of my favs)
Happy Together (someone accidently started this and it got a great crowd reaction that he ended up doing it, and then again and ...)

For what it's worth there is little in the list that screams at me to be cut, particularly if you run by computer and carrying discs is in an issue, but I'm not a host.

Thanks Mark. At least some of you recognize these songs. I will always have to bring my discs with to prove I'm 1 to 1. And alot of these songs that I listed are 1 or 2 on a disc where alot of the other songs are sang. These were purchased in my early Kj'ing years.

I sing with an older crowd, so quite a bit has been, and are sung. I'm pretty close to what Mark suggested. You never know when a gang of older vacationing or visiting folks come around to sing and dry up the bar. LOL. I'm not a pro, but do private parties, there's a lot of newer stuff that's never touched, but I keep them 'in stock'.

You've never had ANYONE sing "Walking In Memphis" or "At This Moment?" Your singers must live under a rock. Seriously, maybe they are just too young.

I understand the need to keep the books to a useable size, but I wouldn't delete any songs just because you've never heard of them. I think it was Lonnie who said that if you have a good selection it's better than a book full of repeats.

I have to say that "At This Moment" hasn't been sung at my shows in a while, but it used to be I would hear that one nearly every weekend. "Walking In Memphis" I had sung at my show a month ago. (We have lots more country and retro music sung at the bar I work now, so I don't hear as much pop music).

My advice is to leave 'em all in.

Just as soon as you take them out someone will ask for it and then be mad that you don't have an old standard. Why do you want to remove them for more room on the hard drive or more room in you books?
They can't be taking up that much space.

I just now noticed this! I actually have sung some of them! Here are the songs I have sung or have heard people sing.

The Sign/ Ace Of Base-I've sung this
Down At The Twist And Shout/ Mary Chapin Carpenter-I've sung this
The Boy From New York City/The Ad Libs-I've sung this and it went over really well
Secret Agent Man/Johnny Rivers-I heard a guy sing this once--love it!
Love Won't Let Me Wait/Major Harris-I've heard someone sing this
I Melt With You/Modern English-I heard a kj sing this at the beginning of the show
Midnight Confessions/ The Grass Roots-I've sung this
Sultans Of Swing/Dire Straits-I've heard this sung
Wicked Game/Chris Isaak-I've heard this sung for karaoke, but I've yet to hear it sung _well_ for karaoke!
Let My Love Open The Door/Pete Townshend-I've sung this, and during the intro I overheard someone say "I haven't heard this song in a long time." I love it when they say that!
Lowrider/War-I've sung this (an octave higher than the recording, of course! LOL!)
Walkin In Memphis/Marc Cohn-I've sung this and have also heard several other people sing it--LOVE this song!!!!

There are a few others on your list that I think I may want to sing sometime. Also, there were a few that I can't remember if I've ever heard sung or not
