We've started a poll at our local forum just on this subject... It's a new forum so there isn't a lot of traffic (yet). You can see that THURSDAY seems to be the favorite...

We karaoke on Saturdays mostly and an occasional Friday. We have school kids and wake up early during the week and hubby sometimes works Sat. mornings.

Other than doing our own shows on Thur, Fri & Sat, the only night we usually have a chance to get out is on Monday's. Hey Phillip! (A.K.A. Kamakazee Kid), we'll see you tonight. Bob & Brenda Sound Escape Productions

I usually go two or three times a week. As with RJ, nothing gets in the way of wrestling night. Another exception is if the Giants are playing a Friday night home game.

During the "season" (Sept-May), I try to get out on Friday and Saturday.
The "off-season" here means occasional shows (every other weekend or so)...and I try to make those shows. One venue doesn't even have a show during the summer months. The bar staff there says the lack of a karaoke show means the bar is pretty quiet -- and empty -- during the summer months.

Stan you goto Pac_Bell Park? I wanna go. When I used to live out in SF me and my dad went to Candlestick Park to watch the Giants. I can't afford to see my beloved Red Sox out here. Always sold out and the highest prices in the majors.

I used to go for karaoke almost every Sunday, after work with the guys. That is, until they got rid of it there. One other place had it 5 nights a week but the bar closed. They had a huge selection, mostly Sound Choice, and all the hard rock a metalhead like me could dream of.
'Round here, I'm finding it difficult to find good shows. The only convienient place nearby plays excessive dance music between singers. Rats! I go there every once in a while, but due to all the closings I'm not getting out as much as I'd like to.

I can when the feeling hits, I know different places that have karaokee and amazingly, it is everynight of the week. Tuesday are inexpensive with $1.50 drafts. I find one place on Thrusday that rocks and I slip into the other days depending how I feel.

Well, as I stated in a previous thread, I started on a Wednesday, my friend's birthday party at my local pub. Then I went with someone who I met at that party to another karaoke pub the following Saturday. Next thing I knew I was going out every Wednesday & Saturday for karaoke, and on Thursday for another pub night (Name-That- Tune). Over time, I kept discovering all these little places to sing, and being that my buddy (who had the birthday) is brother to the KJ ay my local pub, it was thru him I started to get out more to karaoke. He would host, and I earned my ride to his shows by helping him with his gear (setup and teardown of his show equipment).
To date, I am out 5 nights a week (Wed thru Sun) for karaoke over 3 different pubs, and I have become a KJ's 'roadie'.
I am seriously considering getting into the biz, and becoming a KJ. I just don't know if I got what it takes?

Keep doing what your doing WT and you'll know. There's nothing better than running your own show with somebody else's equipment, no nothing better. Posts: 1795 | From: Fall River, Ma | Registered: Feb 2001

On average, once a week, that being Saturday. I don't always have the cash to go out during the week, but occasionally I'll drop in on a weekday show (just won't spend a lot/stay too long--need to get up early on weekdays!).
Why Saturday? My friend Nick has over 13,000 songs with no repeats, and he's only doing Saturdays and Sundays. Also, there's another show I go to on Saturdays that is run by people from the other side of town. They have a CAVS player with a few oddball tunes that Nick doesn't have, and I go there for those songs.
Best,
Mark
