Somebody sang a song at karaoke tonight and I totally forgot to ask them the name and the title. I have to know...don't remember much about the song other than it had a very "new wave/punk" flavor to it. The only lyrics I can remember are "You gotta keep them separated!" I know it's a late 70's/80s song and it's killing me that I don't know the title or the artist of this song. This has to be an easy one for all of you "song hounds" out there!

And while we're on this subject, does anyone know the mid-1990s alternative rock song that goes "She thinks she missed the train to Mars, she's out back counting stars." Sounds kinda like a heavy version of Weezer.
Or the classic rock song that goes "Paint me silver, blue and gold... my rainbow is overdue." It's kinda like Bad Company.

Yeah, that was a Bad Company song called "Silver, Blue and Gold." That would be a good one for SC to produce.

BTW: I could have sworn it was a 80's song for some reason. It's strange because when I went to see Weird Al last year, he played that song in his set. I knew it wasn't an Al song so I wonder why they did it...unless it was a parody of that song and didn't know better! LOL!

Anthony...I think Al either made a parody of it OR it was one of the tunes featured in Alternative Polka...then again, I could be completely wrong!!

*Wishing "Alternative Polka" was on karaoke*
Ok! Now that I have that one figured out (thank, guys) now I have a new one for you...
I keep hearing this song on our new "retro to right-now" radio station but never catch the name of the artist. I know this is an 80's song and it sounds like The Depeche Mode. The only lyric I can quote is: "Words are very..unnecessary..."

You know, I found both of those by going to *gasp* Yahoo's home page (www.yahoo.com) and entering in (( Lyrics "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" ))
When you put in the Quotes, it does a search for that phrase. In this latter one, I did a search on "Words are very..unnecessary" almost exactly as you typed them in here.
"You gotta keep them separated" was the paramaters for the first one.
Not saying this works all the time, but it's my FIRST search parameter.
Hell, it took me forever trying to find that song off the soundtrack for "Doc Hollywood" "I am the One and Lonely" only to be informed on an opinion section about the soundtrack that it's not on there at all!!!
