You are gonna be a lifer at running karaoke, cause
#1 You got the look (hot) 2# I've always seen you online act nice and courteous, professional, and etc to other people. #3 There isn't anything you don't know about equipment. #4 You have a nice library.
There are more reasons but I don't want you getting too big of a head. Posts: 170 | From: Wisconsin | Registered: Oct 2007

I'm in a transition phase, moving to outskirts of Charlotte. I'm still doing weekend private parties, though, and booked through New Years.

In my 10th year as part-time employment mostly doing DJ/KJ wedding receptions, parties, car shows, a couple of monthly gigs at vet's clubs. I stay away from taverns. The venues are usually too small and have too many rowdys.

Still going strong four nights a week. Notice that most nights still boom but do get a dud every now and then. I just don't visit the site very much.

I just started running some shows a few weeks ago. Went from being a regular to hosting a few nights a week and now it's taking off pretty well. If ya'll have any advice for a newbie, I appreciate it!

Be consistent and never ever make exceptions to your rotation rules.
The thing my bar likes that I do is I act more like a host for the bar than the KJ. I greet all the regulars whether they sing or not, and if a new table comes in, I take a book over, introduce myself and welcome them.
