This has to do with the grouping of the songbook. Songs by artist are grouped by artist. In other words, each artist has a group of songs listed under them. A single line of print goes to printing the artist name and a single line goes to printing each title in that artist's group. Songs by title are grouped by title. Each title has a group of artists listed under it. A single line of print goes to printing the song title and a single line goes to printing each artist in that songs's group. In short, you have more song titles than you have artist names. I have KJPro also but i suspect that it is true in most other programs depending on the report type you are selecting. Not all report types will result in this anomaly. You will usually see this happen on two column reports. In either case, do not be concerned.
To see how this can happen, it helps to see it on a smaller scale. To see this on a smaller scale, try this: Wait till you after you have moved all your updates to the main songbook so that you have an empty update book to work with and then add the following songs...use any song number because it doesn't really matter.
"Hey" by Frank
"Hey Hey" by Frank
"Hey Baby" by Nancy
You have two different artists and three different songs. The songs by artist will produce 5 lines of print as in the following:
Frank
*** Hey
*** Hey Hey
Nancy
*** Hey baby
The songs by title will produce 6 lines of print as in the following:
Hey
*** Frank
Hey Hey
*** Frank
Hey Baby
*** Nancy
Once you understand this difference, you can easily imagine how it can add up.
Hope this helps.
