Okay, this one kinda goes hand-in-hand with the other game, and you might be able to get some answers off of that thread. Here's the question...

What songs can you think of where the song title does NOT appear in the lyrics?

I'll start it off. Let's try to do three at a time if possible:

BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY- Queen
SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT- Nirvana
BLACK DOG- Led Zeppelin

Wow. The situations' more rare than I thought. Here are some songs I've sung that don't include the title:

Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood
Talking Heads - Life During Wartime
Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch
Chumbawumba - Tubthumping
Depeche Mode - Enjoy The Silence
Led Zepplin - Dyer Maker
Spin Doctors - Two Princes (at least I don't think they say it)

The king of cliche songs, Mr. Buffett, has only one song that doesn't really have the title in it- "A Pirate Looks At Forty".
(and upon a casual glance at his non-karaoke hits, I didn't see a title that he DIDN'T sing in the song!)

Remember kids: only sixteen shopping days 'till Jimmy Buffett's birthday!!

Oh, and here are the lyrics to an incorrectly guessed song:

Words like violence
Break the silence
Come crashing in
Into my little world
Painful to me
Pierce right through me
Can't you understand
Oh my little girl
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable

All I ever wanted
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm

Enjoy the silence

I think it's in the first verse of the song.

But this one would do: Spin Doctors - Jimmy Olsen Blues.

RC, I don't recall that last line "enjoy the silence" being in the actual song. Are you sure it's there?

Good ones, everybody! Certain groups, (like Green Day and Nirvana) have a bunch of them. Here's some more:

LITHIUM- Nirvana
BRAIN STEW- Green Day
LONGVIEW- Green Day

I think the first line in "Two Princes" is "One two, Princes kneel before you."

Thought of some more that are released on karaoke:
Theme From Mahogany - Diana Ross
For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield (love singing that song)
The Ketchup Song - Las Ketchup (but it does mention "salsa", which is another tomato based condiment)
Synchronicity 2 - the Police

When people ask for "Love Lies Bleeding" it could be;
Hemorrhage (In My Hands) - Fuel or
Funeral for a Friend (Love Lies Bleeding)- Elton John, but I'm not sure if those count.

Possession by Sarah McLachlan

And this is all just from what I can remember. Hey, this is fun!

Actually "Hair of the dog" refurs to the hair and the back of a dogs neck that flares out when angry. When you see it, you know you are messing with one mean S.O.B.

Jimmy Buffet was mentioned earlier, but no one offered "Volcano"... i know there's "lava come down soft and hot". but no mention of the word volcano in the song. Atleast I'm pretty sure.

....I don't know where i'm a gonna go when the volcano blows..

Sorry but Sandman is mentioned in "Enter Sandman"
"....'til the Sandman comes, Sleep with one eye open..."

Thought of another one, "Song No.2" by Blur (the chorus is "Whooo Hooo!")
and Nirvana, "About a Girl"
and Clash's (and now Annie Lennox) "Train in Vain"

What do I win?

"Big Yellow Taxi" - Joni Mitchell (only Big Yellow thing mentioned in song is a bulldozer, so I don't know if that counts)

I seem to remember that "Enjoy the Silence" IS sung at the very end of the recorded song, but may not be in karaoke, since it is after a very long instrumental. I'll have to listen for it next time I hear it.
Too bad this contest isn't for a SC disc
