Sound Choice rules! Your arrangements and sound quality are unparalleled. How about a Jesus Christ Superstar disc? I see the one tune is available on Star Series #2191
(Broadway Classics Vol.3)but I really want to do "Heaven On Their Minds"- that song rocks! I'm also looking to find "They Don't Know" by Tracey Ullman and "Fall On Me" by R.E.M.

Hiyah Mark,

I'll second your JCS disc request.

Also, if SC can't oblige, you can get the Tracy Ullman Track on Sunfly volume 76 - quality of rendition seems fine.

regards

Lisa

Hello to you too! And thanks for the info. I thought about the Sunfly 76 disc, but I didn't like the other songs.

You all do realize that Jesus Christ Superstar has been produced already, with an orchestral accompaniment.

You are correct. Why would you want the movie? It was an aberration.

Perhaps the stage play is "better". I wouldn't know. Neither would most of our patrons.
We've all seen/heard the movie.

Most of your patrons would recognize the music, the melody hasn't changed. Personally, I was excited about JCS, I still do songs off it. The orchestration is well done.

I almost picked up JCS until I realized it was the broadway and not the movie version.

I would not have bought HAIR for the same reason. I was, in truth, disappointed (after much anticipation) to discover this. I now own a disk that isn't getting used because these versions are not the songs the general public (yes, myself included) are familiar with.

L'Opera:

What version are we talking about here? You don't mean the movie soundtrack disc, do you?
I tried singing a couple of those with the "one touch" vocal removed, but it didn't sound good. The lead vocal still bled through. I'm looking for a CDG with a suitable version for one (or more) singers.

Hi Mark....no...l'op means the original JCS from the broadway stage play. There was an album and the CDG is based on that version. And, while it may well be "better", it is lesser known.

Yeah, I've never heard that one. But I bet it's good. I've seen JCS live on stage twice now. Amazing!
