Thank you,"The Bertha Butt Boogie" - an old fav - I didn't think you would do it, but I guess if you ask for it and it is reasonable, you guys put it out. This one's gonna be fun. And, oh, thanks for Still Crazy After All These Years! With stuff like this coming out, I can wait a little bit longer for the next HB disc, but please, get it out as soon as you can. IP: Logged |

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! my r&b offerings have been getting stale over the past year (the age group at my shows just can't get into nelly)...it's GREAT to have these new PROVEN songs available to my customers! Bertha Butt Boogie - Jimmy Castor Bunch certainly, we'll sing the praises of ALL the Butt Sisters, including the most famous of all: BATHSHEBA BUTT! The Rain - Oran "Juice" Jones when i put this song out there, i'll hafta relax my "a song gets sung once/night" policy, because EVERYONE will want to sing it! Living For The City - Stevie Wonder is this the album version (with the interlude where the guy on the street shows up in ny city and gets arrested)? if not, that's ok...i've been looking to replace my current version with one that does the keyboards much better Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell sure, he's a one-hit-wonder, and this song was a hit only because michael jackson ruled the world back then (an MJ guest-appearance on your song guaranteed radio airplay), but it's a song we all need! and thanks for rescuing: Love Ballad - LTD those are two very important songs, and they deserve a second chance on a disc better suited to their genre. btw, there are quite a few songs on this disc from one of your more notorious publishers....have things (hopefully) changed for the better? Just got the Punk DIY Disc, and I am sooo stoked! Blitzkrieg Bop was the perfect wake-up call after somebody sang some slow crying song. Got everybody in the room bouncing again. They even let me get away with Anarchy in the UK later. Thanks for getting some good old-school punk into the market. My friends and I are exceptionally pleased. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the Pink/Steven Tyler version of Pink - hope it will be the true duet... but, on the other hand, will No Leaf Clover be available on any other disc since I do have all the other Metallica songs listed. IP: Logged |

Thanks for (hopefully) the best version of BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATERS. Almost every version of that song that is on karaoke really bites and I'm putting my money on SC to pull this one off better than any company has. Thanks, SC! IP: Logged |

Hey, look BOC's Godzilla & Radiohead's Creep - see ask enough times and you might get it. And what's up with Evanescence? They loosen up? A big surprise there. And two HB songs from Steel Dragon.... do you think that maybe we could get a third one (Stand) on the next HB disc? [This message has been edited by DavidE (edited October 23, 2003).] IP: Logged |

Makes me wonder if they're going to do "Going Under"... I had broke down and bought an English competitor's version of "Bring Me To Life"... and it's very, very good. I had to get it on a custom disk, though. If it weren't for "Creep" and "Godzilla", I wouldnt' get it! In fact, I might have to get another custom... Waited too long on the Evanescence song. It's hardly popular anymore! SHEESH! IP: Logged |

It's good that Sound Choice did TWO versions; one solo and one as a duet. Maybe they saw the discussions on here that we were having... which ones were duets, which ones weren't, etc. Smart move! IP: Logged |

THANKS for the kind words. We would have loved to release "Bring Me To Life" back when we originally inquired about it – January/2003. But it didn’t work out that way. I recently explained (exactly one month ago) that I was incorrect about the reason why we didn’t do the song – not money, but permission. No permission, no song – legally, at least. (Look here for a fuller explanation. http://www.soundchoice.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/000649.html )
In this case, Bring Me To Life is one of the biggest songs of the year, and it is likely to be considered a classic of its “time”. Whether or not Evanescence proves to be a great band or a one-hit wonder is yet to be determined, but Bring Me To Life is still in the Top 40 on the bible for hit songs, Billboard’s Top 100 chart. And their album is still in the Top 10 (or just under) - all of this despite being out for almost all year. (I even saw the video for Bring Me To Life was on VH1 this morning during prime time EST.) So, yes, you still hear the song regularly today. And you’ll be hearing Bring Me To Life for the next decade, and singers will be singing it for years to come. So, we thought the song was a perfect addition to this disc, especially with all the other requested rock songs on there. Hope most of you can enjoy it!
What... no love for Joey Ramone? (Yes, it is the 'classic' - done up in standard rowdy Ramones style. //////////\\\\\\\\\\ [This message has been edited by BC/Studio Manager (edited October 25, 2003).] IP: Logged |

Hi Tim D! I have never heard of Honky Cat, and I think I know why. I did a search for Honky Cat and found them on Ebay. I recognize two things: A cdg line that you can't find anywhere else but on Ebay, and a seller offering from Orlando, Florida. The reason I recognize it is because of a seller selling me his karaoke #### (ripping music from JVC and Pioneer and putting his own graphics on it and calling it Rare Cuts) on ebay was from Orlando also. I also found Tim's comments to the same seller. ROFL! I would be happy to tell more about my trials if anyone wants to email me. Thus I've learned to stick with Sound Choice. I'm thrilled to see some great songs on this Movie disc. This is one I'm buying as soon as it is out! Way to go SC! And thanks for listening! IP: Logged |

I was going by local radio airplay, not national, or whatever's going on in other parts of the country. I'm not privy to that, nor do I want to look up the stats. My comment was accurate, when referring to my sources. I have already spent the money on another brand that did acquire permission. Based on the thread from a long time ago when it was stated that SC wasn't going to do it. It hardly matters why anymore... I didn't have time to wait on what was going to happen, or what would happen, or what did happen. My customers wanted to sing the song then (ironically, nobody but myself and Diane has sang it yet - and she's told me no more! LOL!), so I bought the British competitor (who may have even been you guys! LOL! It's a very GOOD version. I'm THRILLED that "Godzilla" is coming out as well as "Creep". The latter was only available on a cheesy brand, and on a discontinued Pioneer. NOTHING will make me happier than buying these on a custom (if available), but I can't justify a $30.00 purchase for two songs. Although I did earlier in the past! Nowadays, I gotta be a better spender! [This message has been edited by knightshow (edited October 25, 2003).] IP: Logged |

I've got a "two song rule," where I buy a Spotlight disc if it has at least two songs I'm interested in. If it's only one song, I usually pass on it. In this case, there's FOUR songs I want (five if you count Evanescence). I had already purchased it too, but the SC version would be an upgrade. So I'm definitely buying this disc! IP: Logged |

I just saw where "Figured You Out" by Nickelback is coming out in December. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! I asked for this song not long ago and I'm so completely stoked that you were able to get it into production so quickly. I see though that the PowerPick and Spotlight that contain this cut are due out on the same day. Will the PowerPick disc be available earlier? Thanks again, ![]() IP: Logged |

I'd like to take this oprotunity to thank Soundchoice for producing "Figured You Out" by Nickelback. I originnaly asked for this song on 10 Oct. 03 and see today that it is going into production for a Dec.03 release. I can't wait to get my hands on that disc!! The fact that Soundchoice heard one lone voice asking for a song just goes to prove why they set themselves apart from all the other karaoke manufacturers out there. ![]() IP: Logged |

Thanks for the kind words - we're always pleased when we can satisfy our customers. Jeez, don't think I'm ungrateful, and I hate to burst any bubbles, but... we don't do any song because one person asks us to do it. (Even the Owners don't always get what they ask for.) We do songs because we think there is a viable market reason. In the case of this new Nickelback song, it was done because it is the next single from them - they played it on Saturday Night Live or some show last month. (We like to be first on the occasions we can make that happen - although it wouldn't surprise me if someone else also did this song early.) Normally, spending thousands of dollars because one person asks us is very risky business. (No matter how nicely they ask.) But we have had a case or two in the past where the person doing the song/disc requesting was a customer that was prepared to order an amount of discs that amortized the cost of producing the disc. Anyway, don't mean to offend, and we're happy you're happy.
I suppose that scenario is possible, although we haven’t done that for over a year. IF it was released earlier, it would only be the week before. At this point, we don’t have a clue - but we will get it out earlier if we can! IP: Logged |

I'm not so disillusioned as to think that only me asking for a song made it happen. However, I will take credit for being the one who brought it to your attention so you could consider it. While I'm gloating I'll also take credit for Godzilla. I'd been asking on and off for over a year for it and was happy to see it make a disc finally. As for the owners not getting their way, well, too bad. If you're the owner and you can't get your way there's something wrong. It's GOOD to be King, right? Tim, nice to see you getting some enjoyment out of a posting. Seems lately you've had to "dress down" some of the posters here and I'm just glad I haven't been one. IP: Logged |

Flameslayer, sorry, you can't gloat, "While I'm gloating I'll also take credit for Godzilla. I'd been asking on and off for over a year for it and was happy to see it make a disc finally." I've asked for Godzilla at least 10 times starting October 13, 2001 - see Classic Rock thread, and then again in late October on a Movie Madness, where I said too bad Godzilla wasn't in a Godzilla movie, and then was corrected that it was in Detroit Rock City. BTW, a very big thanks for E.C.'s The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes. A question in regards to the Rock Star songs featured on Movie Madness 2. How did you pick those two songs over the possible three songs, were the other two more karaoke friendly or what? Don't get me wrong, I like the two songs, I also like Stand (being a Hagar fan), and I appreciate the two Steel Dragon songs, but just wondering how the process of selection works, if you can answer, or find the time time to answer this question. That is a good question... I was thinking that "Stand Up" would be a more logical choice than "Blood Pollution." However, I've always liked "Blood Pollution" and I'm sure I'll get some enjoyment out of singing that one. I'm just glad "Livin' The Life" didn't make it on there; I've never cared for that song (even though the production company chose to make THAT song into a karaoke track for a promotional contest when the movie was first released). DavidE, as long as I've got you on the line here... do you know the name of that one song? It appears near the end of the film, when they went back into the studio to record their next album with Mark Wahlberg? He handed them some artwork that got shot down, and they didn't like the first take of him singing it. Do you know which song I'm talking about? It has really fast lyrics... like "I'm a downhill freight train rollin' I'm on fire" or something like that. It's a really cool song but it doesn't appear on the soundtrack. I was wondering if it had a name, or if the entire song was ever recorded. IP: Logged |
