I haven't posted in quite some time. I've been attending musical theater classes and performing in the community theater where I live. I finally made it back to the KB this week, and was pleasantly surprised by the addition of SC's Question to our KJ's songbook. I don't know if any one has praised this one yet, but I think it kicks ass. Perfect as always. Keep it up, SC. You guys rock.

OKAY! FLAME ME!

8808 - Thank you, thank you, thank you. You guys do listen....

I have requested the following and look you guys put 4 on the same disc

EVEN THE LOSERS - TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS
LITTLE GIRLS - OINGO BOINGO (finally a 3rd Boingo song, I can't wait for this one, and the faces on the people who don't know Boingo)
MISSING YOU - JOHN WAITE (not that the Tina Turner version is bad, but I would like to do John's version)
BLOOD & ROSES - THE SMITHEREENS (Ooh, a second and rocking Smithereens song)

The only problem is I gotta wait another month for this disc.

Oh, and 2400 Punk DYI - Sheena Is A Punk Rocker, Anarchy In The UK, My Way....

What more can anyone ask for,

Okay, maybe Van Halen's Dreams, but that has got to be coming soon, right...

And just who is on the next Vs disc, or the blues disc.

Thanks for "Lay Down," a long-overdue addition to the SC catalog (and previously available only in a miserably undercooked version on another label). Hope you hired a good gospel chorus!

"The Reflex" is also very welcome.

I put in a request for the Melanie songs back in September, and now SC puts them out. Was this more than mere coincidence?

For me, 8808 probably still won't top 8715, but I agree it's close. As to who this is all for, when I first saw the line-up I thought of the lines from one of the songs: "even the losers get lucky sometimes".

All I'll say is that when it came to "You're Only Human", I definitely played the Shannon Moore to Matt "Knightshow" version 1.

Every now and then SC gives us a gotta-have disc, and lucky for me they are far spaced apart that I can afford to get them! The last was the Movie Madness, now I gotta get the Punk and the 8808 discs.

Yay on Little Girls and the Ramones!

Just picked up SC 8800, whoa, what a disc - I have to find someone to do F### and Run (love that song). A longer version of Tell It Like It Is - change a few words and it's mine, and the Bif Naked song is great, even though it's wriiten By Desmond Child, but it's also got that Hooters guy too so that evens it out. Also thinking of doing At Last, just wished you guys would of did Etta James updated version, oh well, can't have it all.

Tonight a KJ friend of mine called me and asked if she could borrow one of my Foundation discs with "I Got You Babe" on it. She needed it right away.

There's a TV talk show called Dr. Phil (I've never seen it, but he's supposedly the next Oprah), and they're filming someone singing this duet tonight and needed Sound Choice's version.

Sound Choice was the only ones that gave them permission to use their karaoke track on the show! So I just wanted to thank you again for being so flexible... maybe they'll put a blurb in the show for you (or in the credits). And maybe you'll see me in the episode .

We got that call at 6:17 California time... apparently Ontario CA & Ontario Canada are right next to each other. !??! We gave the PA Grateful's email, real name & city.

Thank you Grateful for jumping in. (It looks good when our contacts pan out.) And thank you Sound Choice for providing this board...We've expanded our contact base and made some good friends here.

Mixed emotions on 8800 (PMS 2):

STOKED - "Love Has Taken Its Toll" rocks. Also pleased with most of the other cuts I know (and inspired to learn some of the ones I don't!)

BUMMED - that "If Love Is a Red Dress" requires the singer to whistle (since I can't whistle my way out of a paper bag). I'm trying to figure out a way that I can just hum or sing the whistling portion, but it totally loses that haunting effect...damn it all!

Damn you guys....

...on Thursday, I saw the Stones and on Friday I saw Haldford (ex-lead singer of Judas Priest)... so of course I want to do Stones and Priest songs, but then today I picked up the Punk and 70's & 80's discs...now I don't know what to do...you guys are just too good.

By the way Oingo Boingo's "Little Girls" kicks major butt...great job on that one.

Well, today the Dr. Phil show airs with "I Got You Babe" on it (for west coast people, it's on at 4:00 PM).

Problem is, they didn't use SC's version! They went to my friends gig and he only had some off-beat brand. He said if they didn't shoot the screen, no one would know.

Well whatever. I hope SC gets in the credits at least, but they could get in trouble for that. Tune in if you want - my friend's hosting it at a placed called The Brass Monkey in Los Angeles.

Grateful, looks like the Brass Monkey is downtown LA, and about 3 miles from my day job. Just asking, what nights do they do karaoke; and do they have SC discs?

David, the Brass Monkey has karaoke every night. It's one of the first places with karaoke in LA, and is pretty famous. Very pricey beers - $5 (not even a longneck). Yes, they have mainly SC discs (about 200-300 SC Spotlights). But they also had the same amount of MM (yuck!). They even had the original SC Milestone and Eagles discs that they use (it was tempting to snag them... lol). All originals - I'm working on redoing their songbooks.
